There are certain travel documents you have to fulfill before you can enter Dubai. Visa requirements may vary for different nationalities when entering Dubai. If you are a citizen of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, no visa is needed and you may stay for as long as you like. Citizens of the U.K. also have the same privileges but after a maximum stay of 1 month they are required to get a visa which is good for another 2 months stay. |
For citizens of some countries, a visa is given to them once they arrive in Dubai. Here is a list of countries whose citizens receive their visas upon arrival.
Australia, Austria, Belgium. Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Canada.
Only Israelis and people with Israeli passports are denied a visa.
For citizens of other countries, you have to got to your nearest UAE embassy, local hotel, or UAE sponsor to apply for a visa.
To get a visa through the hotel or a travel agency, a reservation must be made in the hotel you are going to stay in Dubai for at least 1 night. A copy of your valid passport must also be faxed to the hotel. A faxed copy of your visa will then be sent to you. The original visa will be waiting for you at the airport. Usually, a tourist visa is only valid for 30 days, no renewal of the visa is allowed. If you stay in Dubai for more than 30 days then you will have to pay a fine which is based on the number of days you have exceeded your stay aside from an out pass fine.
